North Georgia Live Steamers invite you and all those who love trains to come out and ride trains with us on Saturday, April 30th from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. We will be opening for our first public train ride day of the 2022 season and look forward to seeing you and all the different types of trains that will be operating on the Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad.

Our first club meeting of 2022 year will be on Saturday, January 8th. Meeting is at 1 p.m. The plans for the meeting is to elect the 2022 board and discuss plans for the 2022 season. The meeting location to be determined.

A weekday workday has been scheduled for Thursday, December 16th at 9 a.m. The plan is to work on electrical work in the next container and prep flat bar for installation into the container as track. if you are planning on coming, please check with Robby to make sure of any last-minute changes.

Our December club meeting will be on Saturday, December 4th and Holiday Club Fun Day. Meeting starts at 1 p.m. club fun day starts when arrive. Additional details will be provided as we get closer to the date.

NGLS club members are you looking to get rid of the leftover turkey and trimmings. Come out for a club fun run day at the railroad. Bring friends, family, and bring the leftovers to share.

North Georgia Live Steamers invite you and all those who love trains to come out and ride trains with us on Saturday, November 20th from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. We will be opening for our fourth public train ride day of the 2021 season and look forward to seeing you and all the different types of trains that will be operating on the Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad.

The day has finally come to take delivery and place containers that will become part of our shop and a member container. We will be placing three 40’ containers side by side and then place a 40’ high cube next to the member container area on the railroad. Bring tools, lunch, water, and a good sense of humor we are probably going to need all we can get as thing come together.

Our October meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 6th at 1 p.m.

A proposed workday schedule for the 2021 season has been posted. Planned projects will be announced prior to the workday. If you are able coming make sure you bring a lunch, water, and a good sense of humor.

Prep day for the 1st ever fall meet will be on Saturday, October 16th starting at 8:30 a.m. The items to be completed include cutting grass, track maintenance, and other general clean up around the property.

We are just about two weeks from our first public run day in nearly two years. The grass is getting tall and could use as many people as possible to knock out grass cutting this Saturday, September 25th at 8:30 a.m. If you have a Riding Lawn Mower, Gas or Battery powered weed eater, or a Gas or Battery powered leaf blower then you are just what we are looking for to help finish cleaning up the site. The more can help the quicker we can cut out. Hope to see you around the railroad on Saturday. Don’t forget to bring bug spray, safety goggles, water, lawn equipment, and a good sense of humor.

It is finally time to brush the dust off the equipment and make sure we remember how everything works before our first public run day in nearly two years. On Saturday, September 18th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. all members are encouraged to come out to the railroad and help us check all the club equipment the railroad and more to make sure everything is operational before our October 2nd run day.

The following items will need to be reviewed:

Club Engines (Diesel / Steamers)

Riding Cars

Railroad (Track, Switches, Signals, etc)

Run Day Supplies (Tents, signs, etc.)

A workday is scheduled for Saturday, September 11th starting at 8:30 a.m. Bring cordless tools, knee pads, lunch, plenty to drink, and a great sense of humor.

The final push to complete the station line just as we prepare to reopen the railroad for our public run days will be happening on Thursday, September 2nd.

Our annual summer night run will be on Saturday, August 28th. This is part of our Club Fun Day activities and is open to all club members, member families, and live steam hobbyist. For more information to those visiting the railroad please visit our Club Fun Day page for more information.

Note this is not a Public Ride Day.

Our next workday is scheduled for Saturday, August 21st. We are continuing progress on the passenger line project in hopes of completing the track work by the middle of September ahead of our reopening in October.

Our next club meeting is Saturday, August 7th at 1 p.m. We will be replacing our club fun day with a club workday since our Hot Summer nights fun day is on Saturday, August 28th. We will spend the day working on the passenger line and break for lunch and the meeting.

Our next workday is planned for Saturday, July 24th as we continue to work towards completing the passenger line. Work will begin around 8:30 a.m. and make sure you bring tools, sunscreen, water, lunch and a good sense of humor.

Work continues on the passenger line along with preparing the railroad for a private event that will happen on Saturday, July 17th. The plan is to continue to lay track so make sure you bring knee pads, power tools, plenty of water, a lunch, and a really good sense of humor.
