North Georgia Live Steamers invite you and all those who love trains to come out and ride trains with us on Saturday, April 29th from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. We will be opening for our second public train ride day of the 2023 season and look forward to seeing you and all the different types of trains that will be operating on the Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad.

Cost is $2 per person per ride on the railroad. Must be at least 18 months old or older. Sorry expectant mothers are not allowed to ride on the railroad. We do NOT accept debit/credit cards.

This event is open to club members, others in the live steam hobby, and invited guests.

Club Members and invited guest join us on Saturday, December 3, 2022 for our annual Christmas Party and December club meeting. This year we will introduce a new twist to the day with a club fun day. Weather permitting plan on playing with trains and a dish to share. We will also bring back our raffle / white elephant exchange activity after our club meeting at 1 p.m. Additional details will be provided as we get closer don’t forget to invite family and friends as well and let’s make this a new traditional during the holiday season.

It’s time to prep the railroad an the property for our next public run day. Come out on Saturday, September 17th to help cut grass, perform railroad maintenance and more. Make sure you bring a lunch, water, and a good sense of humor. Don’t for get your yard and track tools.

Our annual summer night run will be on Saturday, August 27th. This is part of our Club Fun Day activities and is open to all club members, member families, and live steam hobbyist. For more information to those visiting the railroad please visit our Club Fun Day page for more information.

The dog days of summer are upon us and with that we do have a few projects in the works during the month of July. The first is to help Dan with some maintenance on his train to help him get prepared for our August Summer Nights run day and other opportunity to run his train. On Saturday, July 9th we will be unloading much of Dan’s train and working on trucks, couplers, air brakes, and more. If you can volunteer and looking for an opportunity to learn how all this stuff works then come out on Saturday.

While this is going on we will also have a crew working on preparing the site for the next member container. This will require removing some track panels going to the red container and preparing the ground for gravel to be delivered on a separate date.

Plenty of opportunities to come out and help around the railroad and learn what it takes to do train maintenance.

As a special request for anyone that is good with electronics and wiring will also need some assistance re-wiring Dan’s control box on his locomotive as it broke again during our last run day.

Just so we have an excuse to come out and play with trains we will have a Father’s Day weekend club fun day on Saturday, June 18th.

Our June club meeting and fun day is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th. Club members and invited guest are encourage to spend the day around the railroad having fun and stopping briefly for a club meeting at 1 p.m.

The crew at Dreams Come True Railroad, near Camden, South Carolina, invite the members of North Georgia Live Steamers to come out and enjoy a long weekend of running trains. Fun Run long weekend runs April 29th through May 3rd. The railroad is equipped with:

1. Steaming bays with water, air, and electricity

2. Lift for loading and unloading that supports 4,000 lbs.

3. Minimum radius of 60ft

4. Full machine shop

5. Clubhouse with restrooms and place to cookout on a grill
