Train Ride Schedule announced for the 2025 Season
Our 2025 train ride schedule has been set and we look forward to seeing everyone around the railroad this season. The schedule for the 2025 season will be Saturday, April 5th, May 17th, October 4th, and November 1st from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Riders must be at least 18 months old or older. No expectant mothers allowed to ride on the railroad. Tickets can be purchased on site. CASH Only. No Credit Cards or Debit Cards accepted.

Regularly scheduled workday planned for this Saturday, February 8th starting at 8:30 a.m.
Our regularly scheduled workday is this Saturday, February 8th. Depending on who is available, the plan is to work on any one of the following projects: Clubhouse & Workshop, Grandma Line, and more. Make sure you bring lunch, tools, and a good sense of humor.
If you are unable to come this Saturday we are planning a major repair workday on Saturday, February 22nd starting at 8:30 a.m. The plan for our major repair workday is to work on nearly 100 feet of track in the east loop. This repair is needed before we have our club fun day on March 1st. If we have a large enough crew for this work day we will have a few split off to work on a couple of other items including building a curved switch for the Grandma line that we hope to have installed during one of our March work days ahead of our first public run day of the season.

Big progress on the Clubhouse and Workshop project this past Saturday
Big progress on the clubhouse and workshop project this past Saturday as the crew, which consisted of John, Scott, Kenneth, Tyler, Robby, and Norm, finished electrical, finish painting ceiling and walls, and installed lights. The crew also placed clamps on the two containers in preparation of sealing the containers together. It was determined container two needs to be moved a little before the clamps can be fully tightened. Until then container two needs to have several items moved out and placed in the blue container in order to make room for work to begin on cutting out the inner walls and insulating container two. Dates for the next workday are being planned for February so stay tuned for details.

Rebuild begins on the Lil Gasser
Towards the end of 2024 the Lil Gasser transfered to another club member and by January 2025 a rebuild of the Lil Gasser began. The initial efforts where to take things apart and identify what needed to be repaired and what simply needed to be cleaned up and repainted. The initial investigation has determined the locomotive was in pretty good shape. One found a couple of cracks in the cab walls but overall in good shape. The plan is to convert from a gas locomotive to an electric. Here are a few pictures of the Lil Gasser being torn down in order to put it all back together.

2025 Fall Meet will be October 16 - 19, 2025
The 2025 North Georgia Live Steamers Fall Meet will be Thursday, October 19th through Sunday, October 19th. You and your friends who love trains are invited to join us for our 5th annual fall meet.
The 2025 North Georgia Live Steamers Fall Meet will be Thursday, October 19th through Sunday, October 19th. You and your friends who love trains are invited to join us for our 5th annual fall meet. We will be providing lunch on Saturday, October 19th so make sure you register and let us know you are coming so we can make sure we have enough food for everyone. If you are coming from out of town or just want to stay local while you are enjoying the meet we have created a list of great hotels in the area for you to pick from below. If you have an RV or camper and would like to stay on site let us know so we can reserve a space for you.

The weekend is reserved for our group to enjoy the railroad with friends, family, invited guests, and those in the hobby.

Accommodations:
We have limited room for RV’s and trailers onsite however overflow space will be available at the RV parking area located at the Georgia International Horse Park facility which is about a mile down the road. For those wishing to stay in a hotel please visit our website for the latest list of area hotels. Most hotels are within 3 to 5 miles of the railroad along with a lot of great restaurant options.
Visiting Trains:
All locomotive types are welcome, but steam engines are required to have a recent hydro-static test. The test can be completed at the railroad with help from a NGLS.
Loading / Unloading
North Georgia Live Steamers has a hydraulic car lift that has three 20-foot sections of track that can be used at one time.
